Queens Day 2011

Every year April 30: a National Holiday in the Netherlands. Our Queen celebrates her anniversary. It's not her birthday, January 31 is, but her mothers (our former Queen Julian) birthday. January is much to cold to party outside!

Queen Beatrix is already 73 year of age but still going strong. Time after time she indicates she doesn't consider a reteirment yet.

Wllem van Oranje (Willen of Orange) one of the founders of the Netherlands and also an ancestor of the Royal family. This  is perhaps the reason orange is the official color of our Royal family.

Have fun looking at the pictures of Queens Day at Deventer. Like every city Deventer had it's own flee market, music festival, parades etc etc
